Ascent makes a major impact at COSAFA U17s

Ascent Soccer had a COSAFA U17 Championship to remember in December.

Eight Ascent Soccer standouts represented Malawi, including four on the girls side (Faith Chinzimu, Letisha Chinyamula, Rose Kabzere & Talindira Chinyamvula) and four on the boys side (Hermas Masinja, Julius Banda, Mwisho Mhango & Washari Jazili) and of their 32 starting eleven opportunities, they claimed a whopping 30!

This ‘great eight’ also buried 19 of Malawi’s 34 tournament goals, with Rose leading with way with eight which earned her Golden Boots honours on the girls side.

Rose (2), Faith & Mwisho claimed four of Malawi’s five Player of the Match Awards, with all three of them also earning a spot on the 'Team of the Tournament’.

A sign of the great things still to come.
