Professional Pathways & National Teams
Ascent Soccer is proud to already have over 45 of our student-athletes representing U15, U17, U20 and Senior men’s and women’s national teams — including Ascent standouts like Faith, Mwisho and Rose (featured below), who have also earned transfers to some of Europe’s top leagues.
In November of 2025, the Malawi Senior Women’s National Team qualified for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time ever, with six Ascent players featuring and Faith scoring both goals in the berth clinching match.
Along with our professional and national team pathways, we also continue to make an international impact as a group, with girls and boys squads traveling to Germany, Sweden, Ireland and Iceland — where in 2023, the Ascent U16 boys went a perfect 6-0-0 on their way to the Rey Cup crown.

ROSE TO FRANCE. A MAJOR MOVE FOR MALAWI.
In 2024, Rose became the first Malawian, male or female, to transfer directly to one of Europe’s top five leagues with her move to French Premiere Ligue side Montpellier HSC. The two-time Malawi Player of the Year is also starring for the senior national team, which has already included the nation's first COSAFA Cup title. MWISHO IN GERMANY. THE SKY’S THE LIMIT.
Mwisho, a Malawi U20 International, makes the jump to Germany and joins Hannover 96 on a five-year deal. Mwisho was on the radar of a number of international clubs after his standout performance at the COSAFA U20 Challenge Cup, where he led Malawi to a 3-1-1 record with five goals, including a brace in Malawi's 2-1 semifinal win over Zambia. FAITH To SWEDEN. ASCENT’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DEBUT.
Faith made the move to perennial Champions League competitors BK Häcken of Sweden, and she has hit the ground running. She arrived on the global radar while when she scored eight times at Iceland's 2024 Rey Cup. A performance that included goals against Bayern Munich, Brighton & Hove Albion and a highlight reel end-to-end effort versus Arsenal. Click here to read all about Faith’s European move.
