Ascent trialists and co-founders finding their way in Iceland

The Ascent Soccer academy duo of Precious Kaunda (U19) and Levison Myenyembe (U18) continue to shine on trial with Iceland's Afturelding FC.

After Ascent's undefeated Rey Cup win in 2023, opportunities in Iceland are now emerging for Ascent's top talent. Precious and Levi have settled in well through the harsh Icelandic winter and along with performing as players on the pitch, they've also been giving back to the club and community, leading a U10 training group.

The boys were joined in Iceland in February by Ascent co-founders George Maguire and Adrian Bradbury (pictured above with Precious, Levi and Afturelding head coach Magnus Már Einarsson).

George and Adrian had an opportunity to spend three days observing training and preseason matches, and meeting with a number of Iceland's top professional football clubs and corporate leaders. 

There may be more opportunities ahead for Ascent Soccer in the 'land of ice and fire'.
